Excavation and Steel: Layout and excavation are the defining phase of
pool shell construction. Everything else follows. If done improperly, it could
require additional steel, shot crete, tile, plaster, etc, which then affects
the estimated cost of construction. |
Pool Plumbing: Hire only experienced pool plumbers. Other
types of plumbers are simply not qualified. |
Shot crete/Gunite: The choice will depend on the geographical location
you build a pool. Hire only subcontractors who specialize in pool
shells. Gunite is shot dry through a hose and wet at the nozzle and shot crete
is shot wet through the hose. |
Pool Coping: Many options are available for pool coping: bull nose coping,
brick coping, bull nose brick, and more. Where soil conditions are
ideal, cantilever decking can take place of coping. We provide many photographs
of the various options available to you! |
Pool Tile: Careful choosing of the surrounding tile can be the pool's
crowning glory. When in doubt, always go with the simpler designs. Sample photos
can be deceiving - what looks good in a small photograph, can easily overwhelm
your pool when installed. We include many photographs of finished pools using
a wide variety of tiles. |
Pool Decking: Some decks require steel rebar or steel mesh while other
regions may not require any steel at all because of soil conditions. We include
detailed descriptions, by geographic areas and point out which pool decking
works best in various locations across the country. |
